Nightmare On Elm Street Reviews Are A Nightmare

Hollywood can't do anything original, and that's why Nightmare on Elm Street, another remake, is coming out. I'd invest instant cash into a project myself if it was interesting. The Nightmare on Elm Street reviews indicate not everyone is thrilled with the return of Freddy. Freddy Krueger might be scared of it himself, from sheer embarrassment.

Ebert slashes Nightmare on Elm Street

Roger Ebert reviewed it for the Chicago Sun Times, and is not amused. Nightmare on Elm Street got two thumbs down in a Roger Ebert review . He basically said the film was boring. "I stared at Nightmare on Elm Street with weary resignation." He mentions a line of teenagers "who are introduced, haunted by nightmares and slashed to death by Freddy. So what?" Granted, it is a remake, and in franchises certain things go with the territory, but it seems he thought it was ground retrod to the point of it being boring. (An already unoriginal remake is boring and unoriginal? Well isn't that a shocker?)

Rotten Tomatoes hurled at the film

The gaggle of critics on Rotten Tomatoes doesn't think much of it either. Most horror films, granted, aren't Shakespeare. Rotten Tomatoes gave Nightmare on Elm Street a 13%. To compare, North (most critics agree it's the worst movie ever) has a 12%. That does not look good. Critic Peter Howell said "There are a lot of things wrong with this remake of Nightmare on Elm Street, not the least of which is that it was made at all." (Ouch!)

Freddie may be better off dead

Remakes or reboots are a gamble. Some work, and some really don't. (Batman Begins, for instance was great.) Though a review won't determine how much people actually like Nightmare on Elm Street, it seems the remake about Freddy Krueger, the guy who kills you in your sleep, is actually putting people to sleep.
