CKE Restaurants Inc Launches "BURGER SLAYER" Interactive Marketing Campaign for Hardee's® and Carl's Jr®

  A First For Both Brands, the Campaign Features Unique Use of Mobile Technology and User Generated Content.  LOS ANGELES, July 10, 2006, CKE Restaurants Inc Carl’s Jr® and Hardee’s® restaurant brand is launched the new “Burger Slayer” campaign targeting their key demo of males 18 to 34.     Promotion

Dynamic and unique campaign will use mobile communication technology interaction and Hardee 's and Carl' s a small brand to promote the location of the consumer from the store in order to make full use of the site's user-generated content promotion, the first of the two brands.

 

          

Consumers are encouraged to submit photos of their cell phone cameras, friends, and even pets, are caught in acts of "Hamburger killer."            

This requires the ingestion of one or Hardee's or Carl lot of small tasty hamburger, while in a store or other places.  They were able to submit images by sending photos from their mobile phone to Carl's Jr or Hardee's, by email, or by uploading images from their digital cameras directly onto the site.              

Has been selected the best photos posted to the web on a daily, consumers have voted in support of their favorite.  Once a month an overall winner was announced, who were crowned “Burger Slayer of the Month” and won free hamburgers for a month.

 

Generating in store awareness for this campaign, Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr stores displayed POP’s in the form of napkin dispenser wraps which will include detailed instructions for submitting cell phone camera images to the websites.  If you want to submit a digital photo to the promotion you can find the directions to do that on the site.  Extending the online presence for Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr, there was also an extensive marketing campaign targeting social networking sites like MySpace, photo sharing networks like Flickr and specially created displayed banner ads running on Yahoo.  Which built additional excitement for “Burger Slayer”.  In addition, the individual regional marketing campaigns were created for driving the awareness in the cities throughout the country.
