Hypnotized By Hypnosis
One form of entertainment that has lived through for a long time is hypnosis. I saw a movie that an old man placed a hanging watch in front of a person and letting him stare to the object for a long time while he was mouthing different instruction. The victim will then follow the instruction of the person after this program is over. This is not happening in reality and there are many speculations when it comes to its validity. Source: here
The definition of this word, hypnosis according to Wikipedia is "a mental state" or imaginative role enactment". This is a procedure that "is commonly composed of a long series of preliminary instructions and suggestions". Hypnosis is usually done by the presence of a hypnotist. It is a misunderstanding that when a people think that when someone is being hypnotized, they are delving into an unconscious awareness. That's not exactly true. The exercise of hypnosis makes the person focus on only one thing, and disregards peripheral awareness. Because of this,the person will not focus on what he is supposed to focus.
Hypnosis has two types. The first aspect is for entertainment purposes. Second is hypnotherapy or one that is used for therapy. Some of the things where we need hypnotherapy are in pain management, weight loss,skin disease, anxiety,psychology and a slew of ailments. Hypnotherapy is used to reduce a person's anxiety. Hyponosis is also used for people who want to lose weight due to the fact it helps them focus on achieving their goal and avoid distractions such as the temptation of looking at food,etc.
The mind is usually vulnerable to the power of recommendation so hypnosis works. This must be done by a professional and not by an amateur.
