This is not the same thing as creating a newsletter and mailing it to people who have signed up for your list. This is a method by which the reader submits his e-mail address to your system and every time you post, a copy of that post gets e-mailed to that reader. This comes in especially handy when you are recommending a product in one of your posts; it will be in front of more readers.
Another thing you should do is write at least one per week about current news that relates to your blog's niche.
